Jeanette I. Miller, of Charlotte, N.C., formerly of Hamden, wife of the late John (Jack) Miller passed away in Charlotte, N.C. on Monday April 29, 2013. Mother of Dennis Miller of Charlotte, N.C., Thomas Miller of Cleveland, Ohio and Jeff Miller of Bethany. Beloved grandmother of Timothy, Jonathan, Jenna and Brendan.

WATERBURY — Mrs. Ann A. (Antonelli) Raimo, age 90, passed away peacefully surrounded by her family on Saturday, April 27, 2013. She was the devoted wife of the late Gerald M. Raimo. Mrs. Raimo was born on Feb. 9, 1923, in Waterbury, daughter of the late Celestino and Angelina (Porzio) Antonelli. She worked at Flowers Plus for over 20 years and was a communicant of St. John of the Cross Church in Middlebury. An incredibly giving person, she volunteered for Southbury Training School for many years.

Henry “Hank” Hedlund, 92, beloved husband of the late Anna (Neurohr) Hedlund, died peacefully at Rockville General Hospital on Sunday, April 28, 2013. Hank was born in Brooklyn, New York on September 8, 1920 and was the son of the late Eric and Ida (Lundel) Hedlund. Hank proudly served his country during the Second World War as a member of the United States Army Air Corps. He spent his working years as a machinist for AMF and the New York City Transit Authority. After retirement Hank and Anna moved to Los Angeles, CA until the Northridge earthquake brought them back east where they settled in Rockville, CT in 1994. Hank loved sports, especially the New York Mets and UCONN basketball and in recent years, he enjoyed spending time with his friend Marie Robillard. He is survived by his son, Henry Hedlund Jr. and his wife Natalie of Los Angeles, CA, his daughter, Agnes and her husband Ron Urdanick of South Windsor, CT, his grandson, James Urdanick and his wife Magin and his granddaughter, Kathleen (Urdanick) LeBlanc and her husband Tony and three great granddaughters; Danielle, Hannah and Allison. A mass of Christian burial will take place on Thursday, May 2, 2013 at St. Joseph’s Church, 33 West Street Rockville, CT 06066 at 10AM (Please meet at church) Burial will remain private at the convenience of the family. CHESHIRE- Alice Reckmack a Cheshire resident for over seventy years passed away peacefully Sunday April 28, 2013 at the Southington Care Center. She was predeceased by her husband Robert P. Reckmack. She was born November 13, 1921 in Naugatuck daughter of the late Alexander and Jennie (Mikulski) Smolinski. Alice was a retiree from New Departure in Bristol where she worked in the Shipping Department. She was a Communicant of St. Thomas Becket Church in Cheshire, and avid gardener, loved working with Ceramics, a fan of the Boston Red Sox, and most of all loved watching her grandchildren play sports. The family would like to express heartfelt thanks to the Southington Care Center for the care they showed Alice in her final days. She is survived by three daughters Sheila and her husband Patrick Mesite of Cheshire, Sharon and her husband Richard White of Westbrook, and Susan and her husband Jeffrey Savelle of Cheshire; a sister Ceila Tata of Naugatuck; four grandchildren Robert and Shaun Mesite, and Alyson and Lindsay Savelle; a great grandson Grayson A. Mesite; and a sister in law Therese Reckmack Sataline of Cheshire. Alice was predeceased by a brother Paul Smolinski. Arrangements- Alice’s funeral will be held Wednesday 9:15 A.M May 1, 2013 from The Alderson Funeral Home of Cheshire, 615 South Main St, 06410 to St. Thomas Becket Church, 435 North Brooksvale Road, Cheshire, 06410 for a Mass of Christian Burial at 10 A.M. Carroll Richard “Carl” Turner Jr., 83, of Burlington, husband of Gloria Benedict Turner, passed away Sunday, April 28th. Born September 9th, 1929, in Colchester, VT, son of the late Carroll R. and Myrtle (Bidwell) Turner. Prior to retiring, Carl served as Dog Warden for the Town of Burlington for over 40 years and was formerly associated with Connecticut Sand and Stone in Farmington. He was a United States Army veteran of the Korean War, a member of the Connecticut Field Trial Association and a longtime former member of the Burlington Volunteer Fire Department and Ambulance Corps. Besides his wife, Carl is survived by his three children, Sharon G. Langer and her husband Joseph C. Langer of Canton, Gwenith A. Turner of New Hartford and George F. Turner and his wife Michelle A. Turner of Burlington, three sisters, Marion Bell, Jean Bilodeau both of Florida and Nancy Ecton of Arizona, nine grandchildren and many great grandchildren. Carl was predeceased by his first wife, Sarah “Sally” (Giblin) Turner, his daughter, Barbara Bachman, his son, Carroll Richard Turner III, two brothers, Wayne Turner and Freeman Turner and two sisters, Esther Beattie and Betty Zimmerman. Friends may call at The Ahern Funeral Home, 111 Main St., Rt. 4, Unionville on Wednesday (May 1) from 5:00-8:00pm followed by a Prayer Service in The Ahern Funeral Home at 8:00pm with Rev. Beverly (Jamison) LaChapelle, 79, of Manchester, beloved wife of the late Henry J. LaChapelle Jr. peacefully passed away at home on Sunday, April 28, 2013 surrounded by her family. She was born on February 16, 1934 in Manchester daughter of the late Thomas and Sarah (Jackson) Jamison. Beverly was raised in Manchester, attended local schools and was a graduate of Manchester High School, Class of 1952. In her early years she was employed with the former New England Telephone Company and later with Pratt & Whitney Aircraft for over 30 years until her retirement. Beverly was a longtime active member of South United Methodist Church in Manchester. She was a member of the Emblem Club with B.P.O.E #1893 in Manchester where she also assisted with Bingo on Monday nights. Beverly is survived by her daughter, Diane and Kirk Owen of East Hartford, her son, James and Andrea LaChapelle of Manchester, her sister, Marilyn and Bob Lovejoy of St. Petersburg, FL and her six grandchildren, Corey and Jaimie LaChapelle, Derek Owen, Kristin Owen, Kirk Owen Jr. and Tanya (Owen) Morris and her husband, Greg. In addition to her husband and parents Beverly was predeceased by her granddaughter, Allison Owen. Carmella (Armentano) Conlon, 86, of Newington and formerly Hartford, beloved wife of the late Daniel J. Conlon, passed away peacefully at home on Monday (April 29, 2013) with her family by her side. Born in Hartford on January 10, 1927, she was the daughter of the late Louis and Mary (Martino) Armentano and lived most of her life in Hartford prior to moving to Newington six years ago. Carmella was a member of the Barry Square Senior Center and enjoyed bowling, dancing and cooking. A loving wife, mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother, she was happiest taking care of and spending time with her family. She is survived by her four devoted children, Patrick Conlon of Newington, James Conlon and his wife Stacy of Santa Clara, CA, Stephen Conlon and his wife Connie of Newington and Janet Malm and her husband Robert of Rocky Hill; seven adored grandchildren, Brian Conlon, Lisa Conlon, Kelly Grabowski and her husband Ed, Michael Conlon and his wife Nicole, Christine Fiducia and her husband Guiseppe, Kevin Malm and Kristen Malm; eight cherished great-grandchildren, Gregory, Lillian, David, Mya, Noah, Nico, Santo and Giuliana; three brothers, Albert Armentano and his wife Jeanette of East Hartford, Louis Armentano and his wife Blanche of Enfield and Nicholas Armentano and his wife Donna of Danville, CA and her sister, Mary Ann Thomas of Tolland, as well as many nieces and nephews. In addition to her husband and parents, she was predeceased by her grandson, David Conlon. Carmella’s family wishes to thank Interim Health for the wonderful care they provided, as well as her hospice nurses, Holly, Dina and Heidi and her caregivers, Maria and Mary Ann.
