Maureen Cyr Caruso, beloved wife of Joshua Caruso, beloved mother of Madelyn Rose Caruso and Ava Juliette Caruso, passed away unexpectedly on Friday, December 20, 2013.. Maureen was born in Stamford, CT on June 18, 1980, daughter of Ronald W. Cyr and Shan Murphy Cyr of Guilford. She is survived by her sister Juliette Cyr McSweet and family, (Joseph, Emma and Sean) of Guilford. She is also survived by her loving in-laws, Mary Lou Woods, Jay and Barbara Caruso, brother-in-law Jonathan Caruso all of Branford, sister in law Genny Caruso of San Diego, CA and many aunts, uncles, cousins and friends.
Upon graduation from Guilford High School, Maureen received a Bachelor of Arts degree from Duquesne University. She then earned her RN at Bridgeport School of Nursing. Not only was Mo a devoted caregiver to her children, she worked as a Registered Nurse at Yale New Haven Hospital with her beloved colleagues on 9 West. Her choice of healthcare as a profession was inspired by her early experiences with numerous procedures to repair her congenital heart defect. Mo has been described by her colleagues and patients as a kind, compassionate, caring nurse; by her extended family as a beautiful and adoring spouse and mother; and by her immediate family as a precious, devoted wife, loving sister and daughter. She treasured her friends and they treasured her positive attitude, sense of loyalty and joy.
Maureen and Josh lived in Branford for ten years prior to moving to her dream house in Clinton earlier in 2013.
